3rd Degree in November 2021: A long awaited ceremony of raising
Completing his 4th and final meeting before the Installation of a new WM next month, our current WM, aided by his Officers had the pleasure of performing a third degree ceremony at the November meeting this year. This is a much welcomed and long awaited for ceremony for LoH since the pandemic closures of 2020.
Needless to say, with the much appreciated help from the Provincial Support Team, the ceremony was completed successfully. The candidate answered all the usual questions put to him without hesitation and he was then raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason. He also received an explanation of the Traditional History as well as the Working Tools of a Master Mason.
But that wasn’t all, at the festive board, we had the highest number of guests in a long time, which made for a very convival atmosphere. There were over 30 people in attendance. Distinguished guests included W. Bro Slocombe APGM and W. Bro McCormack PGDC joining us at the top table. Guests were also welcomed from our sister lodges Royal Cumberland Lodge No 41 (3), Elizabethan Lodge No 7296 (3), Royal Albert Edward Lodge No.906 (1) and St Alphege Lodge No. 4095 (1).
We also had the distinct pleasure of hosting many members from other lodges including Estune Lodge No. 6817 (4), Priory Lodge (4), Wraxall No 9011 (2), Uno Corde No (2). We are immensely grateful for all the support given by the visiting brethren and the Provincial Support Team in making this meeting not only possible but a great success. The numbers in our lodge may be small but thanks to our visitors, who all rallied round to support us, it made the occasion highly enjoyable and very memorable.
The evening concluded with the usual toasts but before that, guests were surprised with home made cookies to accompany their coffee prepared by the partner of our newly made Master Mason. It was so delectable that many asked for more.
Our heartiest congratulations to our newly made Master Mason.
