Installation Meeting December 2022
Our installation meeting in December was a milestone for the Lodge of Honour. This is the first time in years we had a full year’s worth of meetings since the pandemic.
Another year went by and it’s the Lodge of Honour Installation meeting again. It was a quick Installation meeting held on the 12th of December 2022 where we proclaimed the master in the chair versus installing a new one. It was also an Installation meeting where we see light blues progressed from Inner Guard to Junior Deacon, JD to Senior Deacon and SD to Junior Warden. The other regular offices; Senior Warden, Worshipful Master and Tyler were held by Past Masters until such time when the light blues are ready.
We also balloted and approved a joining member who will promptly be invested as the Inner Guard at our next meeting. He followed a rejoining member, W. Bro A Stanistreet who was a master in our lodge in 1993/94. Back then, it took him nearly 10 years to progress to the chair as he was initiated in 1984. They are not alone as we are expecting more joining and hopefully rejoining members in the new year. That and the possibility of more initiates put the Lodge of Honour in a good trajectory to a successful future.
After the meeting, the presiding officer and attending DC from the Province of Somerset, lodge member, silent ‘six’ (WM from other Bath lodges) and guest enjoyed a Christmas dinner at the festive board. Everyone who attended enjoyed the evening. Here is what the presiding offer has to say:
“Kindly use your good offices to convey my sincere thanks to Worshipful Master and the Brethren of Lodge of Honour for their generosity and a wonderful evening yesterday which I thoroughly enjoyed. I wish the Worshipful Master, Wardens and Brethren a happy and successful coming year.”
He also added,
“With the enthusiasm and determination shown by the members to succeed I am certain that the difficulties being experienced by the lodge will be overcome.
It is very encouraging that a number of your lodge officers wear ‘light blue’ and that with two, soon to be three, in ‘white’ the seeds for a positive future are already sown. Also with a joining member soon some lodges would envy Lodge of Honour being in this position.”
We leave you with more photos from the evening… Until the next Installation Meeting – OR until the next regular period of election within this Lodge, and until a successor shall have been duly elected… Here is to another successful year ahead.
