Annual Potluck Lunch 2024

Our Annual Potluck Lunch for family and friends took place this year at the Bath Masonic Hall, marking a much-anticipated return since our last gathering in the Summer of 2022. The event was long overdue, and it was wonderful to see both familiar faces and new ones gathered once again.

With the support of the Chairman of the Trustees and Senior Deacon, we were able to host this year’s potluck in the beautiful surroundings of the Bath Masonic Hall, which provided the perfect setting for an afternoon of food, fellowship, and fun. Members came together, bringing their partners, friends, and family members, along with a wide array of dishes to share, reflecting the diversity and generosity of our lodge’s community.

A Special Guest

A special highlight of the afternoon was the unexpected visit from the Provincial Membership Officer, who arrived with a guest—an interested potential candidate for membership. The guest was warmly welcomed and, as is tradition at our potlucks, was treated to an abundance of delicious food and refreshing drinks. After engaging in further discussions with our members, it was clear that he was excited and eager to join the lodge, showing just how powerful these social gatherings can be in fostering connections and expanding our community.

Quick Museum and Courtyard Tour

After everyone had their fill of the incredible dishes, we were given a brief but fascinating tour of the Masonic museum and the hidden courtyard, both treasures of the Bath Masonic Hall. It was a wonderful way to cap off the event, reminding us not only of the history and legacy of our lodge but also the importance of camaraderie and shared experiences.

The Food

The food, as always, was a star of the show. Here’s a taste of what was on offer:

• Jamaican Goat Curry – A rich, flavorful stew that was a crowd favorite.
• Special Fragrant Rice – A perfectly seasoned accompaniment to many of the dishes.
• Caponata – A delightful pasta salad, balancing sweet and sour flavours.
• Picante Pepper Salad – A zesty, spicy dish with a perfect balance of heat and freshness.
• Spicy Hot Wings with Hot Korean Dipping Sauce – Bold and fiery, the wings were a hit for those who love a little extra kick.
• Cucumber and Celery Sides – Crisp, refreshing sides that offered a cooling balance to the spicier dishes.
• Meringue with Cream and Summer Fruits – A sweet and light dessert, perfectly capturing the flavors of the season.

This year’s potluck was not only a culinary success but also a meaningful social event that strengthened our bonds as a lodge. We look forward to more gatherings like this, celebrating fellowship, food, and the unique spirit of our lodge.
